DESCRIPTION:¼öƬapp invites the community to join faculty\, staff\, stud
	ents and their families and the District All-Star Band to march in the ann
	ual Historical Juneteenth Parade. Juneteenth commemorates the announcement
	 of the abolition of slavery in Texas in June 1865\, more than two years a
	fter the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect. AISD participants wil
	l meet no later than 9 a.m. at the Rising Star Baptist Church located at 1
	710 E 20th St\, Austin\, TX 78722.  The parade begins at 10 a.m. and 
	will proceed down Chicon Street and Rosewood Avenue to Rosewood and Boggy 
	Creek Park\, 2300 Rosewood Ave. We will have an AISD bus in our parade con
	tingent for those who wish to participate but cannot walk for long distanc
	es.  More details on the Juneteenth Parade and Festival are available

	.2 miles and it is highly suggested that attendees wear comfortable clothi
