Ceremony at 8 a.m., April 15
The ¼öƬapp Police Department will recognize a Guerrero Thompson Elementary School student on Thursday, April 15 with the organization's Community Member Lifesaving Award for his heroic efforts during the Longspur Crossing Apartments fire in January.
Fifth-grade student Damian Saabedra was the first to place a 911 call and alert other residents in the building of the need to evacuate. Damian will be the first elementary school student ever to receive the ¼öƬapp Police Community Member Lifesaving Award.

Where: Guerrero Thompson Elementary, 102 E. Rundberg Lane, Austin, TX 78753. This event will be in the school cafeteria.
